What is grit?
Grit is obtained by grinding frit to different particle sizes depending on the desired ceramic effect and the method of application, which can be either dry or wet. It is usually applied on a ceramic surface to obtain different effects through appropriate firing.
Grit may consist of a single frit, or may be the result of a mixture of several grit/frits, although other materials may also be part of the grit/frits. This will depend on the desired final effect and properties.

How are they produced?
Together with other raw materials or minority additives, frits are machined and screened to different particle sizes.
Channelled emissions of particulate matter are generated during the production process, as well as residues from the process itself, which are generally reused in the production process.
